Chris Rogers, founder of Audio Express, has been involved in the Car Audio industry since 1989, originally learning the trade in the USA. He started by replacing a dud radio in his own car and then doing several friends' cars to a contest standard. In 1990 he started an Electronics degree and began his first part time job fitting mobile phones, alarms and car radios in 1991. The electronics degree was completed in 1992.

There he started in his quest for knowledge in car audio, with a full-time job and working on an auto electrics certificate (this involved building a very quick V8 ute!) and gaining an AT&T Mobile Phone Certification in 1995 followed by a Mobile Electronics Certification Program (MECP) in 1996. 1997 saw a return to Australia and the joining of the Strathfield Group in Sydney and, in 1999, Brisbane Car Sound, gaining more accreditations along the way.

The year 2000 marked the opening of Sound Off Mobile Installations as a part-time hobby business. Sound Off was so well received that in 2003 it became a full-time enterprise selling car security, vehicle tracking, central locking, power windows, vehicle navigation, auto accessories and more. Currently we are a licenced dealer for Mongoose, Sony, Clarion, Garmin, Rainbow, Autowatch, Viper, Stinger, Cyclops, SCS Frigette, Dynamat, Uniden, Necvox and Quiktrak.

Audio Express are also the Australian Importer/distributors for Kanatechs dash kits and Beatsonic interfaces, among others.

2005 heralded the opening of our $30k workshop and, with it, a fresh face for the business... it's now known as Audio Express - Brisbane.

In September 2006 a new 2006 Holden Combo was purchased - the '96 model was gracefully retired after a faithful 300,000km! This new vehicle has copped the full treatment: 'factory' remote entry, ABS/TRC, audio upgrade, navigation, and full monitored security. Also inside is an onboard computer with remote networking back to the workshop (via a 3G wireless router), VOIP phone system, full onboard mains, air compressor, grinder and a generator.

In December 2007, Audio Express put on its first administrative employee - Chris' brother now does the bookeeping. In the process, the business model was changed to a company format.

March 2010  marks the relocation of the workshop to Hertson Qld. This allows better access for low vehicles and was a much needed move due to lack of space in the old workshop.

Over the years, Chris has worked on everything including Morris Minis, 60 ft council Ferries, Mack trucks and EVERYTHING in between. He currently holds fitting contracts for Autobarn, Super Cheap Auto (28 stores), Brisbane City Council, and a host of others. Current contracts are in place with several large import compliance shops for ADR immobiliser/accessory fitting.

Chris specialises in integration of equipment into cars that others consider difficult, and is as adept at in-your-face installs as he is at maintaining a near-factory look with well-hidden components and wiring. The new van is case in point considering it looks VERY stock from the outside and is far from it!

In his spare time he builds fast Japanese cars, and kicks back with his wife, Louise, and daughter, Sophie.
